Sephardim people, whether indoors Israel or elsewhere, could be described as Jewish fundamentalists as they are ultra religious, intolerant of non Jewish religion, very co nservative in their values, and believe Israel must be a strong monolithic relegate to defend it self against its Arab neighbors. Ashkenazic The Ashkenazic Jewish identity developed as a counterpoint to the Sephardic ane, and was facilitated by the 18th deoxycytidine monophosphate codification of Jewish law, the Shulla Arikh(Davis 2002) The coding of law can erase local differences, and serve a universalizing purpose such as in the writing of a constitution to unite former separate states into one nation.. While Ashkenazic communities originated in Germany they spread throughout Central and Eastern Europe thereby becoming multi matter and multi ethnic. The question then arose whether these immigrant Jews should adopt the customs of their new homeland or retain those of where they came from, and whether Ashkenazim should be specify in terms of residency, lineage, or corporation. Corporation in the medieval sense meant a community in which membership was permitted by residents i mplicitly to others. Eventually the corporation designation prevailed so that the Ashkenazic community was one that self identified as such. Karo and other Jewish scholars felt that although some local variation was acceptable, there should be a base of fundamental law applicable to all Ashkenazic communities, and hence the codification of the Shulla Aikh Aided by the invention of the printing press, this codification was generally accepted in Ashkeazic communities in face

The announcement of the filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission for a $500 million issue keep ups after much interest from investors desiring initial public offerings (Dezember and Zimmerman 2012). Dezember and Zimmerman (2012) report that Michaels went from no debt before the buyout, an advance of $4.3 billion in debt after the buyout, and has reduced its debt down to $3.4 billion since. Yet even with the debt the retailer added 160 stores and will come back as a larger and more profitable public enterprise.Although they have yet to square how many shares will be issued and at what price, the owners plan on using some of the IPO bullion from the sale of stock in the company to reduce their high debt, foster working capital, and pay universal expenses (Dezember and Zimmerman 2012). If the end result is profitable, Michaels could be laying the foundation for other large equity-backed companies to take advantage of public markets.

Western Civilization Essay Example for Free

Western Civilization essayFunctional political structures of prior centuries still exist to a massive degree this very day. What that government agency is those political systems that argon viable can transcend centuries and cultures to exist in the modern world. Political structures ar not something that are pulled out of thin air and instituted. Instead, political structures and ideologies are the result of a service of evolution. In other words, a political idea or system will develop in an inception stage and then over the course of time, it will evolve into a more obscure system that takes into consideration the various complexities that modern concerns may influence said development. However, what does not happen is that the aggregate of an old system is completely thrown out unless it is a clearly failed system.Monarchies, for example, have collapsed because they simply are not functional in the modern era. Their modern equivalent, dictatorships, exist is certain pa rts of the world on a minimalist level (Cuba, North Korea, etc), but they are generally rejected by the ample majority of world governments whereas successful government systems propagate, albeit in different versions of their classical counterpart. For example, democracy started in capital of Greece as a philosophical movement that later developed into a viable political system. This shape of Athenian democracy that was instituted in Ancient Greece was considered a model of effective government and a great deal of the principles of Athenian democracy exist in modern governments, although there are a spot of departures from the original Athenian concept. In the Athenian system, direct democracy was the dominant factor as distant to representative democracy. We still see vestiges of this course of direct democracy in America in the form of ballot initiatives. In California, the most (in)famous form of direct democracy can be viewed in the decriminalisation a medical marijuana, a l aw that never would have passed through a representative system.

Reporting Practices and Ethics Essay Example for Free

describe Practices and Ethics Essayfiscal recitals and ethics can play an important part of any governing including the wellness business environment. In order for the health sustenance arranging to be successful angiotensin-converting enzyme essential adopt an efficient financial practice and possess ethical standards. The management of finances for a health care constitution may be a challenge for managers. This is why the health care manager will follow four basic elements for financial management. The basic elements include planning, controlling, organizing and directing, and decision reservation (Baker Baker, 2011). wellness Care Organizations have accounting principles generally acceptable and will comply with the financial practice and the practice of ethics to avoid fraud or nuisance of the reporting practices. Elements of Financial Management Financial management has four basic elements, which assist the manager in making effective decisions for the health ca re organization. The first element of financial management is planning. The financial manager needs to identify the steps that he or she needs to take to accomplish the goals of the organization. However, first the manager must determine what the goal is for the organization and at that time determine what steps to follow to achieve the goal. The succeeding(a) element is controlling a plan is in place that each field of force of the organization must follow. The financial manager must ensure that the areas are following such plans. The staff can view the current reports and make a comparison with reports from the past. In comparing previous and current reports the financial manager can see if an area in the organization needs more attention because the area may not be impact its goals. The third element is organizing and directing. In organizing the financial manager must decide on what resources are outdo to use to be more effective. The manager must also determine how to use tho se resources effectively to come across the goal of the organization. In directing, the manager must provide supervision daily to run the organizing element efficiently. The lowest element is decision making. The manager must make decisions with the alternatives available such as information in the reports.Decision making should be side-by-side with planning, controlling, and organizing. When making a decision the manager must analyze and evaluate the information to make effective decisions (Baker Baker, 2011). Acceptable Accounting Principles Generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) provides guidelines to the companys financial manager. The guidelines will cover the principles of accounting and practices. The generally accepted accounting principles guideline, guides the financial manager in the reporting and recording the financial information. For example, the financial manager will use the guidelines when preparing the financial statements such as the balance sheet. On e health care organizations practice for releasing financial information will arrange a practice of reconciliation in accounting. One organization reviews the balance sheets and makes them compatible as one. The next step is to determine the classification of each balance sheet such as high bump or low risk. The final step is the organization must decide a reporting plan such as monthly or yearly. In knowing and understanding the documents and how to analyze the information this prevents an listener from finding misstatements (Cox, Draa, 2008). Standard Financial Ethics Making an ethical decision is a requirement of health care managers. One must ensure the meeting of needs of individuals within the organization. Principles of ethics include fairness, justice, and professionalism. The organization possesses a code of ethics when interpreting the organizations transactions such as losses or assets. The Health Care Portability and Accountability Act help reduce abuse and fraud conce rning finances whether it is deliberate or unintentional. Fraud and abuse is increasing because of the increase in the delivery of health care. Organizations take better actions in working toward the reduction of fraud and abuse. One way to do this is to develop a compliance program, which a financial manager will play a key role. Compliance programs allow a graceful practice on reporting the financials, and comply with the ethical conduct standard by avoiding fraud and abuse (Hern, n.d. ).Conclusion For an organization to be successful it needs to ensure the following of the financial reporting practices and apply a standard of conduct ethically. The organization should follow the basic elements of financial management. When an organization follows the steps in the correct order there is little of a chance the organization will receive an audit. As long as the organization follows the generally accepted accounting principles there is less chance of an audit, and less of a chance of fraud or abuse when reporting the finances. Happiness in marriage Essay Example for Free

Happiness in union EssayHappiness in unification is entirely a motion of contingency. With reference to spousalss in Pride and Prejudice, to what ex decennaryt is this narration true? join is the key issue in Pride and Prejudice, and Austen uses class structure, manners and proper behaviour in parliamentary law to embellish the topic. It is the over each picture shown by these subjects that tell us about the felicitousness a muliebrity could expect from entering the state of marriage, whether marrying for love and felicity, or, as tallyms the wise choice in the typesetters case of m any of the characters, for m stary and financial security. Pride and Prejudice explores the situations that many young ladies found themselves put in, and whether or non it was possible to achieve fulfilment and happiness if you were to marry for the latter. In the white avens house puddle, particularly, marriage is a very poignant subject. For Mrs Bennet, she feels it is essential for her girls (and for herself) that they should marry puff up, as otherwise they stand to lose everything without a intelligence to take over the estate. Her feelings are do clear at the beginning, once she has heard that a sozzled Mr Bingley has recently moved to the neighbourhood. Without any knowledge or regard for his character, she immediately jumps to the conclusion that it is a beautiful thing for our girls. This statement is made purely on the awareness of his handsome(a) fortune, and of the happiness and fortune that it could arrest her. She uses the word girls, and this shows that she doesnt care for individual happiness, but she does want angiotensin converting enzyme of them get hitched with to him, neer mind which. Her witness marriage is described as lacking in enjoy, esteem and arrogance, and finished Elizabeths look it is improper and unsuitable. Although their marriage was based chiefly on an attraction on Mr Bennets part, Jane Austen states that it had been an imprudent move, and that he had married a womanhood whose weak understanding and illiberal mind had very early in their marriage put an subvert to all current affection. The only happiness he seems to get under ones skin from the marriage is his constant mocking of his wife for his give amusement, and marvelling at her ignorance. The marriage which exists is based on a accept rather than the three qualities that Jane Austen, through Elizabeth, attributes to true marital happiness for both partners respect, esteem and confidence, which is exactly what Mr and Mrs Bennet dont have for each other. Mrs Bennet, for her own daughters marriages, sees the purpose as a way of supporting themselves, and gaining some kind of financial security, and the bigger the fortune, the compass out the match. When Elizabeth turns down the heir to Longbourn, Mr collins, she says to her daughter If you go on refusing every offer of marriage, you will never get a husband, and I am sure I do non know who is to maintain you when your perplex is dead. This inspect is peerless shared by Charlotte, although she does non air her opinions so openly.Charlotte Lucas is a realist. Her role in the book is to represent the musical themes and intentions of many ladies in eighteenth century society. What numerous young women were doing, whether they were influenced by their mothers or not, was to force a cautious and prudent marriage. As a girl of twenty-seven, plain, and in danger of last an old maid, she has taken on the view that happiness in marriage is entirely a matter of chance is a reference to the fact that women did pre-dominantly marry for money, not indeed love. She even goes as removed as to advise Elizabeth on a match with Mr Darcy, although Elizabeths feelings are prejudiced towards him. She tells Elizabeth not to be a simpleton, and allow her fancy for Wickham make her appear unpleasant in the eyes of Darcy a man ten times his consequence. This shows her prudence, that although Elizabeth has admitted she has feelings for Wickham, she should keep herself open to anyone who pays her a compliment, and is wealthier. It is this theory that influences her own marriage with Mr Collins, for although at that place is no real affection on her fount, he can offer her protection and a comfortable life. The practical reputation of her marriage causes her to justify herself to her best friend, and she openly admits to her I am not a romantic, I never was. Immediately, this tells us that this marriage is not the result of a passionate affair, it is the conclusion that her chance of happiness with him is as fair as most people can boast on entering the marriage state. This statement is kind of shocking, because it means the wedding takes place with no real affection on either side it is done merely for self-gain. This view is likewise made clear when she comments on Jane and Bingleys human relationship When Jane is secure of him (i.e. a wedding or enga gement has taken place), there will be leisure for falling in love as much as she chuses.Although Mr Collins seems to be well-chosen, when he tells Elizabeth that We (he and Charlotte) seem to have been intentional for each other, we have to go back to the fact that Charlotte was his third choice. He had favoured Jane, before Mrs Bennet savant him with the information that she believed that she would soon be engaged to Bingley, and it was only afterwards, when Elizabeth had turned his offer of marriage down, that he showed any regard for Charlotte. He proposed twice in three days, and so it is clear that no real feelings of esteem on either part could have developed strongly. This marriage is set up on the ground that Mr Collins wants to set an example to his parishioners, and, more gravely in his eyes, to please his wealthy patroness, Lady Catherine.Mr. Collins overly remarks on Elizabeths situation, as his wife had done previously when he says that her portion is unhappily s o abject that it will in all likelihood undo the effects of her loveliness and amiable qualifications. The Lucases are by no means wealthy, but Mr Collins is not looking for wealth, he is looking to add to his happiness by obtaining a companion. He came with the intention of returning home with a Bennet bride, but weakness that he has an intelligent, practical woman, who has gone into a marriage with no pre-wedding romance, but to be content with her preferably prosperous situation. As Elizabeth observes, Charlotte was disgracing herself and sunk in her esteem, was added the distressing conviction that it was impossible for that friend to be acceptably quick in the lot she had chosen. In direct contrast to Charlottes carefully thought about match, Lydia rushes into a passionate and imprudent marriage. Society almost expected women to marry above their own wealth and station, to make a sensible union, but it was a disgrace to have an affair it was essential that a woman should k eep her virtue. Lydia, however, did the latter but not the starting. Inside these parameters, Lydia is a slur on her already tarnished family name. Herr quite insincere love caused her to follow her heart, and go against the foresight that was instilled in so many young women, essentially from birth. Her love can be described more as a fancy, because it holds none of the virtues so important to Elizabeth, and therefore Jane Austens eyes respect, esteem and gratitude. However, the match between herself and Wickham gives them both happiness, and, although her family does not share their feelings, her decision, however misguided, does give her happiness.Prior to the marriage, she writes for there is but one man in the world I love, and he is an angel. This view is in opposition to Charlottes, that one must marry into good fortune, and then see what happiness may come of it, if any at all. Lydias perception of Wickham is unchanged when she writes again, once Elizabeth and Darcy are m arried. She says that If you love Mr Darcy half so well as I do my dear Wickham, you must be very happy. Although on initially embarking on her elopement, the marriage looked as though it was a flirtatious whim, especially on the part of Wickham, by the end, there is no real relationship development, except that they still love each other. From the circumstances border both of their families, it is safe to say that Wickham is not marrying for wealth, it is for his apparent love for Lydia. Previously, he had been engaged to Mary King, a wealthy heiress of ten thousand pounds, and Elizabeth had said of the match a wise and desirable broadside for both handsome young men must have something to live on, as well as the plain. As Colonel Fitzwilliam said of men Our habits of expense make us too dependent, and there are not many in my rank of life who can afford to marry without some attention to money. However, these very(prenominal) motives are not seen in his match with Lydia, althoug h it is true to say that unless Darcy had intervened, they may not have married.Elizabeth as well as observes that his affections for Lydia were not equal to Lydias for him.that their elopement had been brought on by the strength of her love. She also wonders why he chose to elope with her at all, before coming to the conclusion that some financial gain must have been the reason, and if that were the case, he was not the young man to resist an opportunity of having a companion. However, these reasons have not impaired Lydias enjoyment of married life, nor Wickhams, as she is constantly praising him he is continuously her dear, and he did everything the best in the world. Whether these observations are made due to Lydias ignorance, or her blindness in her fancy, she does not seem to have tired of him, as Mr Bennet had of Mrs Bennet soon after their wedding.Someone who has married for both money and affection is Jane. There is a mutual attraction between her and Mr Bingley, and thi s leads onto, we presume, matrimonial bliss. Their relationship is fixed firmly on a sensible basis, and they both share an optimistic view of the world. Elizabeth, early on in the book, comments on the likelihood that Janes marriage would be for money, not love, but by the end, Jane and Bingleys equally happy manners and charming countenances mean that there is equality in their affections unlike Wickham and Lydia, where there is more fondness on her side. Their shared admiration for one another gives the foundation for equilibrium, that there will be a good balance of respect, esteem and confidence on both sides. Mr Bingley says that he could not conceive an angel more attractive, while Jane says of Bingley, albeit in private, that she never saw such happy manners. With these observations, this is a match will lead to domestic felicity that muckle and chance will have no role in the marriage it has been carefully thought out, and although it is practical, it is also a match whi ch will bring happiness on both sides. Elizabeth describes him as violently in love, and goes on to say, at the request of her aunt, that he was wholly engrossed in her and his inattention to anyone else, meant that this was the very center field of love. Mr Bennet, immediately after the engagement had been announced tells his daughter that you will be a very happy womanI have no doubt of your doing very well together. These views are ones shared by all, because it is obvious from their first physical attraction, and also their same manner, that they were well suited, and that their pleasure is secured by such high regard. However, when Elizabeth announces her engagement, her father is not as convinced that she will be as happy as Jane is. Her knowledge of Darcys gallantry has grown, whereas her fathers has been stifled, and so he doubts her true happiness when he says I know your true disposition, Lizzy. I know that you could be neither happy nor respectable unless you truly esteem ed your husband. However, his understanding of her true feelings could not be yet from the truth. end-to-end the entire book, it seems Darcy and Elizabeths relationship is the only one that has grown in understanding and estimation of one another. Respect on both sides has grown, because as they have gained more knowledge, they have also gained more esteem. This is the one relationship where there is a true shift from almost hate to true love. The re-assessment of characters allows us to see the real feelings behind the relationship, and even with Jane and Bingleys, although they respect one another, their connection is based centrally around admiration, whereas Darcy and Elizabeth have had to conquer their own pride and prejudice to have a full understanding of each other. Throughout the novel, Austen dropped hints about Darcys interest into Elizabeths intriguing character, but Elizabeth showed no interest in Darcy, except to air her feelings of fanaticism at his proud nature. Mrs Gardiner, whose marriage is a very good example of what a successful relationship should aim to achieve, is very motherly towards Elizabeth and gives her competent advice, rather than nonsensical schemes for marriage. She advises her on her fancy for Mr Wickham affection for Wickham would be so very imprudent because of his want of fortune. The relationships in the book are mainly seen through the eyes of Elizabeth, and it is she who determines whether they are happy or not. She was full of scorn for Charlottes match with her fathers cousin, and when she advised Elizabeth that Jane should secure him and than fall in love, she made a witty and ironic comment, which tells us that she would only marry for a love that had been dogged before a ceremony Where nothing is in question but the desire of being well married and if I were determined to get a rich husband, or any husband, I assume say I should adopt it.In short, Lizzy represents Austens own view on marriage, that one should tru ly know, honor and respect a person before entering the state. Her mother complained to Mrs Gardiner, that had it not been for Lizzys perverseness she could have married Mr Collins. With views such as this, it is little wonder that the intelligent Elizabeth has such guarded opinion of marriage she had alship canal been aware of the impropriety of her own parents union, that this could put her off entering into marriage with someone she did not hold esteem for. It is this reasoning that allows her to fall in love with Darcy, and visa versa. Her unconventional views on what should be established prior to an engagement contrast with many of the motives for the marriages in the book.Lydia and Wickham, as well as Mr Bennet had all been headlong in their reasons, and these marriages, although they could bring happiness for at least some amount of time would not have been as morally successful as Elizabeth and Darcy, whose marriage is based on mutual esteem. Whereas Charlotte had thought about the espousal, and then agreed, much to the disdain of her friend, her happiness is impaired, because the marriage is not based on love, as Elizabeths is, it is principled on common gain, as were many matches in the society. Not only do Darcy and Elizabeth respect and gratify each other, they also share common interests, such as reading, as well as having the same elegant tastes. These qualities ensure happiness, unlike Mr and Mrs Bennet, where stimulation of the mind is essential to one, and stimulation of the tongue inevitable for the other.Pride and Prejudice is a very good example of what different types of marriages can achieve a good home and security, passion and fun or intelligent companionship. Marriage opens up different ways to different types of happiness, but true happiness can only be achieved on the grounds of note and deference. Lydia, and to some extent Wickham, are happy, despite the different morals in their marriage, when compared to Charlotte and Mr Colli ns marriage.Darcy and Elizabeth are happy because they knew, appreciated and respected each other before entering matrimony, whereas Wickham and Lydia entered marriage with little but their fancy for each other to base their lives together on. In my opinion, Darcy and Elizabeths match is better, because their happiness is determined before marriage, not decided afterwards. Happiness in marriage is entirely a matter of chance is true to some marriages, but in a carefully calculated marriage, based on respect, esteem and confidence, the question of chance is indifferent.

History of Typography Essay Example for Free

History of writing EssayFirst of all, what is typography? Typography is the art of letter forms being organized into certain wrangling or sentences. Typography came from the Greek word typos which means form and graphe which means writing. Most people would deem that a German man named Johannes Guttenberg was the one who invented typography. Before Guttenberg, everything had to be scribed by hand which was very measure consuming. Guttenberg also created blackletter, the first ever pillow slip. Since blackletter looked very compact, a man named Nicolas Jensen invented the first ever popish typesetters case during the 15th century. Since Jensens typeface was made of straight lines and regular curves, it was easier to be read compared to the blackletter typeface. After Roman letters, the italics typeface was created during the late 15th century by Aldus Manutius.During the 18th century, a man named William Caslon created a typeface called Old Style. A fewer decades later, Joh n Baskerville created a variety of typeface which is now called Transitional. A few years later, a French man named Didot and an Italian man named Bodoni created typefaces that are classified as Modern.During the second industrial revolution, advertising needed new typefaces. Letters got taller, wider, and even weirder.Since the typefaces during the 19th century were so complex, the early 20th century brought something simple. A man named Paul Renner from Germany created a typeface called Futura which was based on simple geometric shapes. In 1957, Helvetica was introduced. Some would call this the worlds most popular typeface. The world of typography changed with the introduction of the computer and it will continue change since technology is constantly improving too.

All have been a rising challenger to one another in a way with the service they have been providing for the past years . First we are going to compare what services they provide which defer from one another. These are the services provided by these service providers in a summary in the table beneath.ServicesProvidedhttp//www.investorcentral.org/i/logo_starhub-a.gifhttp//topnews.com.sg/images/singtel_logo111.jpghttp//blog.elyius.net/wp-content/uploads/m1-singapore-logo.jpg Mobile Service-Prepaid ServiceMobile Service- Postpaid ServiceBroadband Service- Home( Fixed)Broadband Service- MobileDigital TV servicesHome Fixed Line Service2.3 Further digestFrom the to a higher place table, we could intelligibly see that M1 lacks in a Digital TV service where other service provider provides. Only StarHub and Singtel provide the Digital TV service. Another recent service just provided by M1is the Home Fixed Line Service, meaning there were 2 services which M1 wasnt providing before. But all the services are rather more similar if compared with one another which they are providing now. After seeing, the tabl e you would have known the services provided is the same, we need to analyse further to see which service provider has break in quotation among the consumers. Since our main focus is on communication services as a whole we shall attain M1 from the comparison as it doesnt provide Digital TV service. So I would be canvas within StarHub and Singtel about their services.I have done some surveys using www.monkeysruvey.com using that I have collected some data from 80 people for my inferences. From the pie chart and bar graph below, we can clearly see that StarHub managed to dominate the graph by having 44% of the people surveyed using StarHub service. By looking at this, roughly we could estimate that StarHub is dominating the communication service industry in this Singapore. Followed by the Singtel which has 35 % and M1 21% from the people surveyed. This is case we have to explore How StarHub manage to obtain goodrecognition among the consumers in Singapore even when there are other communication service Providers in Singapore. In order to be outstanding among the communication service providers they must be really competitive with other Service Providers. Getting updated with latest technology and offering services that go together with the latest technology. StarHub which follows this ceaselessly provides its nodes with up to date network service to serve them better. Also means that StarHub is readily available for changes and wait them accordingly. For example, when internet usage was getting higher in Singapore like surfing the net and online fun increases they manage to help this consumers by having the highest internet download speed in Singapore. This made many consumers who favour to be fast get attracted to their service.Next would be the quality of service. From the Survey I have done, below we can clearly see that StarHub provides with good service to the customers.service.PNG Higher percentage surveyed that their service is above average. StarHub has a very good recognition with their quality of service. They have a very coordinated system, which doesnt have any severe problems and miscommu nications. They provide 24 hrs customer service hotline, where people can call them 24 hours regarding their queries faced and technical difficulties, which makes consumers more accessible to them whenever they want. Next would be their promotions, which attract the customers to take their service up. They provide more promotions bundle services together so that consumers will take all the services together paying at a cheap price which eye catching for the customers. Hubbing promotion, where consumer will be subscribed to all 3 services at a cheaper rate compared subscribing to one service by one. From the survey done we can conclude that consumers with the higher percentage of 80% saying that their services charged at cheaper and worth it price. StarHub has done well in this area trying to attract the customers by providing its consumers cheaper services. Referring to this graph, we could roughly estimate that StarHub manage to get near of its consumers to subscribe to all its ser vices. We can somehow conclude that the promotion above was effective after all in a way. StarHub also doesnt focuses on getting new customers always but also tries to keep his current consumers by rewarding them by giving discounts to when they re-contract or waiving certain fee charge if they subscribe. They also have this points system feature, where the customers can birth things inreturn without paying full money for it. They also provide vouchers which can be use to re-contract their subscription with them without paying any fees.StarHub also gives birthday treat by giving free cake and vouchers on their customers birthdayreawrds.PNG StarHub have managed to attract new customers by giving them attractive promotions and cheap service. And as promise they also manage to give good service quality from the survey done. With good service provided, they also provide with reasonable cheap price which is really eye catchy for the customers. They also focus on attracting new customers and at the same time they also provide the current customers with good incentives making sure that they close up prefer their service compared to other service providers.Customers satisfied with StarHub Service would tend to recommend the service and share the experience with their friends. With satisfied recommendations by friends People subscribe to the services also. This could be one of the reasons why it contributed 20 % to the graph above (4) on reasons for choosing for StarHub. We have explored certain factors on how StarHub manage to attract customer and the contingent reasons on why they chose them. Next, we were going to analyse StarHub using SWOT analysis.3.1 SWOT Analysis3.11 StrengthsStarHub strengths had made them a successful communication service provider. The strengths have enabled it to be successful and popular among the consumers in Singapore. One of it would be anticipating changes, as it becomes more and more competitive in the telecommunication industry its able to come up with new promoting mentations. StarHub manage to come up with new and innovative ideas on the service they give. For example, they were the first service provider to come with per second billing for outgoing calls and all day free incoming calls. This idea even boosted the service provider market. More people chose StarHub collectible to this reason. This is not the one idea they came up with, they were the first service provider who came up with unlimited internet access. This attractive idea of theirs had a considerable jump of consumers subscribing to them. StarHub has this strength where many consumers preferable StarHub Services. Another good example would be when other communication services adapt their ideas to the services StarHub has to come up with more new innovative ideas. When all services were the samein all 3 communication services, StarHub manage to come with new idea with bookman Plan with an unlimited SMS service. When all the internet services provided by all providers were also the same, it came up with the highest and fastest internet service. They adapted to changes well and reacted to accordingly. Another important strength would be StarHubs 24 hours customer service. With its 24 hours customer service department consumers and seek help anytime they want. All their problems can be address anytime they call the customer service. With this, consumers will feel more secured as there are people to livelihood them with any kind of problem whenever they face. This would help the consumers to build trust on the service provider since they are assisted anytime. Next would be interactive. StarHub has Facebook which aids in connecting with all the people who have subscribe to their service. As most us know Face is becoming a the most popular social networking platform. StarHub uses this portion, to interact and have a better communication with the customers. People who cannot get through their customer service they can get the ir queries answered at facebook. StarHub also promote their service in the facebook so that everyone can see. Another arouse strength would be their Hub club and Platinum Club member scheme. This scheme is basically for those who subscribe to all their services will be provided certain discounts and special privileges. With this it helped StarHub to serve the customers better. With this discounts given more people preferred to treated specially by giving discounts.3.12 WeaknessStarHubs weakness would be due to its one of its strength. When StarHub always come up with new attractive services these ideas would be adapted by communication service providers. Not only have other Communication service providers done that, in order to maintain the same level of other service providers, StarHub also adapts certain ideas from them. So due to this adaptation of ideas from one another to stand in the same level, StarHub needs to come with more so that they can be more outstanding from the res t. Coming with ideas isnt easy they have to consider certain factors at the same time. For example they have to come with ideas so that the alliance doesnt make any loss but at the same time coming up with ideas with their current resources to attract and arrest its current customers at the sametime. StarHub tries to make its new customers and living customers at the same time. No questions to solicit regarding about this. But when we really analyse this more in detail, we can say StarHub places most of its accent on attracting new customers. Equal emphasis isnt given to both the sides. With this they have a chance of losing their existing customers. For example, for those who port over their mobile line to StarHub from other service providers were given $200 off any mobile phone they take and will be given whatever discount or fee waived for new sign up while for existing customers when they want to re- contract they are not given this privileges but only given vouchers that do not exceed the amount.3.13 OpportunitiesStarHub has explored his opportunities well in telecommunication industry. When technology gets improved, it takes this chance to further more improve the service with the help of new technology. For example, it was the first to launch the 3G mobile service in 2004. It maximized the technology by providing the most 3G coverage around the whole Singapore and providing with the fastest HSPDA mobile internet speed up to 21Mbps. And also when Next Gen NBN service was out, StarHub made use of this and provided consumers with more faster and effective internet service. Another opportunity was for it to interact with customers and knowing what they want. As I have stated above of StarHub connecting themselves with the consumers through facebook social networking. Through facebook, consumers can ask the queries that need to be clarified. Consumers will also give ideas on how to improve their service and will give suggestions for them. From these, Star Hub would roughly know what the issues that need to be solved are and know what the consumers really want. This helps StarHub to understand and provide service accordingly to reach the consumers standard and needs. When consumers needs are met, they would prefer more of StarHub service. StarHub manage to explore more of opportunities on the services they can provide. When StarHub merged with Singapore Cable vision with the cable services they also provided internet service. Providing 2 services due to the merger. These are some of the opportunities of StarHub.3.14 ThreatsAs this is competition based on Singapore, the only two threats faced would be Mobile One and Singtel communication Service Providers. As most of theservices provided by them are similar, StarHub has to do things making sure that they are outstanding among all the communication service providers. They must conquer well in most important 3 areas which will be Price, service quality and service they provide.3.15 Sugge stionsMy suggestion for StarHub would be really analyzing the consumer needs. For example, would be the lack of consideration for the existing consumers. The only provide more attention on attracting new customers. May be they could also give similar privileges to the current existing customers where everyone will be treated equally and will be fair, at the same sometime not having loss. Another suggestion could that, since its a very big company and they have many customers they could provide larger customer service serving customers as not all queries would be solved once they call. Most of the consumers hate waiting, thus having more people in customer service consumers will have their queries solved immediately and with les waiting.
